LIFE IS NOT THE WAY IT'S SUPPOSE TO BE. IT'S THE WAY IT IS. THE WAY YOU COPE WITH IT IS WHAT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE!

So we had FHE last night, and we were talking about temples. It made me realize how blessed we are to have so many temples so close to us. Also, I am so thankful that I have the gospel in my life, and that I was able to be sealed to Wes and my kids for all eternity. For the last part of the lesson I had the kids draw a picture of the temple. It was so cute to see their drawings! While they were drawing their pictures, I was keeping an eye on Wes, since he hadn't been feeling well all day Sunday, and then all day yesterday. He kept zoning in and out, like he did when he had a seizure in the temple. So, I was watching him, and all of a sudden he went into a seizure. He wasn't having convulsions this time, like he usually does, but he went all limp, and was breathing funny, and completely blacked out. I had to lay him sideways on the couch, and Loki was going crazy, whining and licking him, trying to wake him up. I don't understand this trial with his health, but it sure does make me grateful for having the gospel, and the knowledge that if I do lose him anytime soon, I can be with him again. I love my Savior and my Heavenly Father, and I am so grateful for families! If we stick together, we can get through anything!

Summer fun in 2010!

Ok so here is where it gets interesting.....On our way back from McDonalds, my brakes were GRINDING so bad that I felt like everyone could here me coming down the road. So, I had to drop my van off and have Annie come and pick up all 7 of us! Now it was already getting later, and we had promised the kids they could go swimming too. The problem though, was that we were down to one vehicle, and had to get 12 people to the swimming pool! The van wouldn't be done until about 7 pm, but the pool closed at 8. So, we went in two loads! It was so crazy, but we were all pretty good troopers, until it came to the COLD water! I went in the second load, and by the time I got there, all the kids that had been swimming for a while had purple lips! LOL! So we swam for about an hour together, and then it was time to pick up the van. Annie took Wes to get it, along with the first load of people. (800 +) dollars for the van! EEK! Sometimes I wish that we could go back to horse and buggy. It seems like that would be tons cheaper! Anyway, when we all finally got home, we ate some DELICIOUS taco soup that Wes had made! MMMMMMMMM! And then Annie wanted some caramel popcorn. So while her and Jess went to the store, I bathed the kids! First Parley and Lincoln, then Amy and Tegs, and Nikki, Nathan, and Briggs all did their own. When they got back from the store, we had caramel popcorn, sent the kids to bed, and played countdown with us four adults! Annie was done after one round of winnning. (sore from our workout hehe) Next day was Sunday, the sad day of parting. We had all the girls' hair curled so cute, and the boys were so handsome. I got a few pics. Brigham was throwing such a fit about leaving. LOL He shut himself in the bathroom and had a good cry while SLOWLY getting dressed, saying, "I don't want to go home, our house is so boring!" It was pretty funny! Then when we gave hugs and said our goodbyes, Nikki started with the sobbing. She had tears streaming down her face, and she acted as if someone had just died. So, even though we might not be able to afford it, and I will have to take two days off work, and take the kids out of school for two days, I think that that we might end up going to the cabin in May. It would be so much fun to just relax and have fun with the whole family!!!!! This weekend reminded me of going to the cabin! All the kids sleeping in a room, and the adults playing games all night! Love my family!!!

Ice cream at McDonalds

So we all ate breakfast, and then put a shopping list together. We had a little bit of time to kill before going to Dixie Sun Elementary for the Easter Egg Hunt and activities. I learned that Annie is quite the shopper! We had to let her ooo and aw at everything. Then Jess decided to take Lincoln and Parley on a little trip without us. We found her about 20 minutes later LOL. So because of our dilly dallying, we made it home a little bit later than we had planned. By the time we ate lunch and got out the door, it was about 2:00. The party had started at 1:00. Parley had woke up from his nap, so Annie had to stay behind with him. Lincoln was asleep as well, so I took all 6 kids by myself. Well, when we finally found the school, everything was over. Of course, I was the one to blame. The kids all informed me that it was all my fault, and that I was driving for too long! So I had 6 crying kids! AAAAAAAAAH! So, I decided to take them to McDonalds for a little kiddie cone and some playtime. That put some smiles back on their faces!

Breakfast for Champions!

So it was a pretty good night, for the most part. Annie and Jess may beg to differ. Saturday morning Annie and I went running out in Ivins! We were dreading it on the drive over there since my van was telling us it was only 38 degrees outside, and we had sprinkles on the windshield! We were brave though, and we did it! We ran our 6 miles in under an hour, even though our heads were frozen, along with our arms and legs! When we came home, the kids were up and they had put together a breakfast for all of the adults! They are so sweet! Later, Nathan decided to do the dishes, and put in the wrong soap. We almost gave the kids a bubble bath in the kitchen! Sorry, didn't get pics of that. Too busy trying to keep up with the water flowing out!

We got a few pictures before everyone crashed that night. Some crashed a little sooner than others, and Loki just didn't want anything to do with the party, so he ran away!

Sleepover!!!

So two of my awesome sisters came down to visit this past weekend, along with their adorable kids! It was so much fun to be crammed in our little apartment! We had so much fun! They got here at about 8:30 on Friday night, April 8th. The kids were SOOOO excited! They couldn't stop squealing and giggling as we spread out 6 sleeping bags on the living room floor!

Ok, I think that I finally got my blog how I want it, for the most part. Sorry about the weird posts that I can't figure out how to edit. It will be better from here on out. This has been so much fun. I am excited about everything I can do with this!

More of Disneyland!!!!
Nicole's baptism in February. We didn't get very many pictures of this darnitt! We were so busy with family! Great day though! We had Wes' mom and Step-Dad here, his brother, Tyler, and family, his brother, Tracy, and family, and his Grandma. From my side we had my parents and my two sisters, Stephanie, and Ariane. Stephanie also brought Sammantha along! It was an amazing experience for me as a mother. I still can't believe I have an 8 year old. It brought back such memories of when I was baptized. My mom helped me in the dressing room to get ready. I remember wearing the jumpsuit that they give you. I also remember the movie that they use to show about the girl that took something from the store and had to repent. This was a little different with Nicole. They didn't show the movie, and I actually had to speak about the Holy Ghost. They also had some sisters sing a beautiful song about baptism. I wish I had the words to it. It brought me to happy tears to see her immersed into the water, and also to see Wes performing the baptism. I felt so proud of her, and so privileged to help this brand new, clean member of the church, get dressed into her beautiful white dress afterwards. I got her all ready, and I looked her in the eyes and told her how proud I was of her decision to be baptized. I gave her a kiss and a hug and held her hand as we walked back into the room where everyone was waiting. That is a proud mother!!! Another neat thing was that our Bishop had just lost his father a few days before, and yet he still showed up to the baptism and gave some very neat comments. Also, our ward here has a really neat tradition called "The Book of Life" which was started back with the pioneers! Nikki got to sign that book and that will be a neat thing for her to be a part of forever! After the baptism we went to the church and had some pizza and drinks, and some dessert. It was fun to be able to visit with family, and to share in this special occasion with Nicole!

This was a funny time when Nikki wanted to make a haunted house for the neighor girls, so she dressed Nathan up like a werewolf, Amy like a witch, and she was a vampire. I thought Halloween was over?????

I am having so much fun with this! I was telling Wes how I want to keep this up since it is pretty much a journal, but it will always be accessible. If we were to ever have a fire and things got destroyed, this would still be here. I just wish I could get the 300 pictures of Disneyland on here! Anyway, here are some pics from by Dad's surprise birthday party in January. Now if you notice my silly mom, she had bells palsy at the time, and that's her attempt at smiling! It was hilarious!
